Mind, Body and Spirit

We live our relationships and lives in our body. We do this through our breath. Breath is how we move energy thru the body. We are energy beings. Our bodies are dense condensations of relating energy fields.

When you experience or are reminded of a deep emotional hurt or trauma, or of chronic pain from an illness or injury, you usually hold your breath. Holding your breath causes thoughts and feelings about events to linked and stored as a unit in the body. The energy of an experience you is suppressed or repressed into the body when the breath is held. This is how we acquire a past about an event and fear the event will occur in the future.

Rather than stay stuck in the upset or difficulty, if you take a full belly breath, it is easier for old emotional patterns to break up and to even help ease chronic physical pain. The breath is the switch that either restricts energy or allows energy to move thru the body. When you keep your breathing fluid, it allows the release of pain and healing to be easier.

Sacred Pause Technique:
  1. Pause
  2. Take several deep belly breaths
  3. Really focus on the breath; anchor into it.
  4. Relax the body with the breath.
  5. Feel into the body, especially the throat, chest, and belly.
  6. Name the sensations in the body. E.g. tightness in the throat, jitteriness in the stomach, soreness and pressure in the heart. As you stay with the sensations, you could ask the questions: What wants my attention? What wants my recognition? What wants my acceptance?
  7. Treat the sensations with kindness. Bow to them. Thank them. Watch sensations change. If the sensations are too strong, go back to your breath. Remember, actually feeling our sensations are the key to healing.

"Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional."
